An alternate method of closing these processes permanently or semi-permanently is to disable items in the msconfig utility and restart the system. (This utility is not available on all operating systems. It is available on Windows 98, ME, and XP.)

Note: You must be logged on as an administrator or a member of the Administrators group in to complete this procedure. If your computer is connected to a network, network policy settings may also prevent you from completing this procedure.

  1. Click Start, click Run, type msconfig in the Open box, and then click OK.
  2. On the General tab, click Selective Startup, and then click to clear the Load Startup Items check boxes.
  3. Click OK, and then click Restart to restart your computer.

Note: Look closely at the General tab to make sure that the check boxes that you cleared are still cleared.

How to Return from a Clean Boot State:

  1. Click Start, click Run, type msconfig in the Open box, and then click OK.
  2. On the General tab, click Normal Startup - load all device drivers and services.
  3. Click OK. Click Restart when you are prompted to restart your computer.

For the latest editions of Dragon speech recognition, specifically Dragon for Mac , the license is per user (not per machine). A licensed speaker is permitted to create and use multiple voice profiles, and these voice profiles can be stored on one or more computers.
